Background: This study presents a numerical solution for determining the limiting uniform normal pressure acting horizontally behind cohesive-frictional backfill material in deep contiguous piled wall. At this pressure, soil tends to flow out gaps between series of vertical piles placed at certain horizontal spacing. Methods: The lower and upper bound plane strain finite element limit analysis (FELA) has been carried purpose. Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion, using an associated rule, was employed impose yield condition mass. Results: A parametric obtain magnitude non-dimensional lateral resistance ( F / cD ) as function normalized pile spacing S/D ), friction angle soils ? adhesion factor ? soil-pile interface; here, refers (force) per unit length offered by pile, S forms clear piles, D is diameter c cohesion. impact different parameters on mechanisms examined comprehensively. Conclusion: increases generally with decrease piles. further increase values .
